Description

In this class kids will work on all types of commercials including commercials with Improv, Monologue, Dialogue, Public service announcements among others.

The actors will use locally shot commercials as their material for class. Kids will work on camera and their commercial audition videos will be emailed to parents every week.

Technical aspects of commercials auditions will also be covered:

slating, moment before, moment after, original choices, comedic timing, testimony, relationship to space and to others on camera, etc.

Kids will enjoy working on commercials in class. This is a fun class but like all our classes there is homework! Kids must be off book (memorized) to work in class. Parents must help kids with memorization. If kids have not memorized scripts they should come to class to observe and my do the work the following week.

THIS CLASS WILL FILL so please book as soon as possible. Our other kids classes were full 2 months ahead of time. If you miss this session please ask to be put on our waiting list.

YOUR INSTRUCTORS

KIRSTEN CLARKSON Founder and Artistic Director, Kirsten Clarkson has been coaching Vancouver's top young actors for almost 20 years. Her students book everything from actor to leading roles.

She has coached hundreds of actors who have booked everything from Oscar winning features (ALMOST FAMOUS) to blockbusters like WATCHMEN & I ROBOT and series like ICARLY and VICTORIOUS plus countless locally shot films and TV series.

She has worked as an actor, writer, director, development executive, casting director and talent agent. Kirsten is a mentor for young women at the YWCA and sponsors Women in Film, New Westminster Home Learners, Seycove School and Servants Anonymous Society, Doxa Documentary Film Festival and Kitsilano High Theatre.

Kirsten is very proud to have been nominated for the 2007 award for Cultural Diversity in Business.

JULIAN LEBLANC In addition to being selected to present at the 2011 LEO AWARDS, his work in THE HAUNTING HOUR, The CW's HELLCATS (recurring) and the USA Network's FAIRLY LEGAL (among many other credits), Julian has is a producer. His most recent project is the award show nominee, SUNDAY'S CHILD.

Julian's work in the critically acclaimed feature film JUDAS KISS has taken him to film festivals all over North America. Outside of his prominent role in the film and television community in Vancouver he founded, GOSSIP BOY, a booming entertainment website.
