Description

This lens while mounted on a tripod was blown over landing on grass. It worked fine but was sent to Nikon anyway for a complete check. They made sure everything was at factory specs. Slight dent remains for where is was jammed up against the ball head. Otherwise there are a few marks on the lens hood. I now use Lenscoat which will be included. The glass is clean with no marks and no evidence of dust, fungus or other related problems. The body of the lens is also free of scratches or marks other than the dent already mentioned (See photo). Reason for selling: reducing weight of camera gear and was not using this lens very often. I am an amateur and used it for bird photography and on car trips around the region. Includes all of the original items: HK-30 Hood, CL-L2 Soft Case, front cover, rear cap VR function is only compatible with Nikon's F5, F100, N80, N65, D70, D100 & D1-series (or later) cameras. AF-S lenses, while able to manually focus with all Nikon F-mount cameras, will autofocus ONLY with the following cameras- N65, N70/F70, N80/F80, N90s/F90x, F4, F4s, F5, F100, D100, D1 & D1x (or any newer models). "G" type lenses are not fully compatible with the F4, N90-series, N70, N8008-series and N6006 (or older model) cameras, only programmed auto or shutter-priority auto exposure mode can be used.
