Description
I would like to propose the formation of a recreational and social group in
the West End of Ottawa for individuals who identify as 'queer' (i.e.,
bisexual, gay, intersex, lesbian, transgendered and two-spirited).
The purpose of this group would be to serve the needs of those who seek a
healthy alternative to the bar and bathhouse scene in the gay ghetto,
wherein the objective is to contribute to community health by reducing
social isolation within this target group.
Ideally, this group would bring together individuals of different genders
and orientations under one roof, because one can often make a personal
connection with someone else outside of one's own categorisation.
Essentially, this group would unite everyone in the West End who is 'queer',
recognising that one can be 'what you are, wherever you are'.
