Job Description
Analyst, Corporate Development & Strategy 
As a member of the Corporate Development and Strategy (CD&S) team, the Analyst will support both strategy development and transaction execution.  CD&S works closely with the Strategic Business Units (SBUs) as well as other Corporate groups including Planning and Forecasting, Treasury, Tax and Legal.  This position reports to the Manager, Corporate Development & Strategy, and provides an opportunity for growth both within the team and more broadly within Agrium.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
* Assisting in all aspects of transaction execution, including identification, analysis, modeling, due diligence and senior management updates.
* Developing, operating, and improving financial and economic models.
* Identifying, researching and performing SWOT analyses on potential growth opportunities
* Interpreting financial statements (including note disclosure) and performing various analyses (e.g., calculating operating and financial ratios)
* Understanding Agrium’s Corporate Strategy and how it guides decision making and prioritization for the team
* Supporting the development of both Corporate and SBU strategic plans
* Coaching, mentoring and overseeing the work of junior analysts on the team
Qualifications/requirements:
* Hold an undergraduate degree in finance or related discipline with 3 – 5 years of relevant experience.  MBA and / or CFA is a plus
* Possess strong computer skills to support data gathering, data analysis, modeling and presentation
* Have a fundamental understanding of capital markets
* Demonstrate experience and skill in financial statement analysis
* Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
* Be a team player in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable participating on cross-functional teams
* Possess strong organizational and time management skills
* Have a passion to create.  He / she must have a strong capacity for change, have an urgent desire to accomplish and make a differenceand must focus creativity on building long-term value for Agrium
* Be capable of working with senior level management
* Possess intellectual honesty - be truthful, trustworthy, aware of strengths and weaknesses, and guided by an objective outlook
* Be inquisitive and curious with a commitment to continued learning and knowledge sharing
